Do’s and Don’ts for Making the Most of Your Boudoir Session
I’m sure you’re thinking about scheduling a Las Vegas boudoir session and wondering what to prepare for. Here are some quick tips to making the most of your session and enjoying every second of it!
DO Relax!
I know it sounds cliche, but honestly taking a deep breath and trusting yourself will let you enjoy the experience so much more. I promise as your boudoir photographer not to let you fail, and truthfully, there’s no way you possibly could. Putting all of your trust in someone else can be intimidating, but don’t worry – I’ve got you!
DO Bring any clothing or accessories that make you feel confident
My client closet carries sizes XS-3X, so I definitely have something that will look amazing on you, but your boudoir photos should feel personal. They should feel like YOU! The last thing you want is to not enjoy this celebratory experience, so if that means you want to throw on your partner’s favorite shirt or strip down to your birthday suit, I support it!
DON’T schedule anything that doesn’t spark joy before your session.
Chances are you won’t be able to schedule much before your session, because we start right around brunch time. But if you’re like me and you like maximizing your day, you’ll probably feel the urge to get in some work before coming to the studio. If it’s fun work, go for it. If it’s work you’re dreading, postpone it! It’ll still be there the next day. This session day is a self care day!
DON’T wear any tight clothing the day of your session.
If you like getting your photos back quickly (who doesn’t!), skip the clothing that leaves lines on your body. This can be fitted bras, tight leggings, or anything else that leaves impressions in your skin. Those marks, while photoshop-able, do take time to get out, which means it’ll take a bit longer for me to edit them out. Come in your sweats for all I care! You’ll be showing off your curves in no time.
DO speak up if you have an idea!
Or if you have questions about your photos! I truly believe that photo sessions are collaborative, so if you have an idea for a photo while you’re in my studio, let’s do it! Definitely don’t feel any pressure to come with your poses picked out – that’s what I’m there for! But if you’re feeling some inspiration and you want to try something new, just sing out! Collaborations are one of the best parts of photo sessions.
To no surprise, partaking in my own boudoir session is what inspired my business from the get go.
